Washington, D.C. – May 31, 2016 – The Glover Park Group was awarded Bulldogs Media Relations Awards in two different categories: the “Gold Bulldog” for “Best New Product Launch – Business, Opening DuPont’s Cellulosic Ethanol Plant” and the “Bronze Bulldog” for “Best Not-for-Profit/Association/Government Campaign, C40 Cities at COP21: Elevating cities to the center of the global climate conversation.”

“These awards are a testament to the skills of GPG’s Energy & Sustainability team, whose energy and climate acumen is unmatched in the field,” said Jason Miner, Managing Director. “Whether celebrating the opening of an advanced biofuel facility in America’s heartland, or using the world’s stage to advocate for city climate action, this team makes people take notice.”

GPG’s Debra Greenspan, Anne Larimer Hart, and Tana Bosshard share the Gold Bulldog with client partner DuPont Industrial Biosciences (DuPont) for the launch of their 30-million gallon cellulosic ethanol facility in Nevada, Iowa. Challenged to tell the story of a momentous business-to-business development in the midst of policy uncertainty around biofuels, the team used earned, paid and social media to leverage interest in Iowa as a caucus state and the politics around ethanol to highlight the important role of the product in the local economy; touted the environmental benefits of cellulosic ethanol at commercial scale; and targeted geographies key to the business.

GPG’s Debra Greenspan and Hayley Moller faced a more global challenge for longtime client C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40 Cities). Confronted with the cacophonous media landscape leading up to the COP21 negotiations in Paris, GPG’s charge was to raise awareness of cities’ critical role in the climate change fight, and highlight their many successes. Through exclusive media partnerships, a robust social media strategy, and smart deployment of C40’s best asset – mayors – GPG was able to garner more than 250 unique articles or broadcast pieces across 58 countries that featured C40 Cities.
