The Glover Park Group (GPG), a leading strategic communications and government relations firm, is seeking an experienced social media professional to join the firm’s Digital practice, which is comprised of digital strategists, writers, designers, developers and media buyers. This position is based in the Washington, D.C. office;  however, due to today’s climate we are currently working remotely.

A successful candidate is an exceptionally strong writer and has developed and implemented social media strategies in a political campaign, a government agency, or a NGO. The ideal candidate is also fully fluent in Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook/Instagram, and YouTube. This role requires the candidate to be adept at simplifying the complex, and to be conversant in public affairs and business news while working on a wide range of issues and performing under multiple deadlines.


Responsibilities

  • Develop organic and paid social media strategies for clients
  • Manage social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other relevant platforms for clients
  • Develop social media content calendars
  • Propose new ideas and concepts for social media content
  • Create dynamic written, graphic, and video content
  • Analyze and report on audience information and demographics, social media activity and themes over time, and the success of existing social media projects
  • Work with account teams and clients to coordinate earned media campaigns with social media strategy

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate a superior, efficient writing ability
  • 2-3 years of experience in social media, journalism, media, communications, marketing, or related field
  • Ability to draft social media content/toolkits, manage social media management tools/social listening platforms, and know the ins and outs of social media and digital publishing platforms
  • Knowledge of email marketing best practices
  • Must love to create
  • Can present ideas with confidence and clarity
  • Must have a collaborative approach to work
