The Glover Park Group (GPG), a leading strategic communications and government affairs firm, is seeking a talented and collaborative Junior Designer to join our in-house Creative Studio. The Junior Designer should be ready to develop their existing skills by working with other designers, art directors, creative directors, writers, user experience specialists, and producers.

This person is responsible for producing attractive and effective designs for all types of media by supporting the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects, while communicating with more senior team members to receive feedback. A flexible approach and attitude is needed to excel at the job. This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office.


  • Ideate, design, and develop digital and print executions
  • Collaborate with Creative Studio team on process, efficiencies and communication to best achieve successful work assignments
  • Create design solutions for infographics, share graphics, website UX and front-end design, branding and logos, print and digital advertising, and interactive assignments across platforms
  • Provide design support across the team wherever needed – being ready and willing to take assignments and direction from other team members
  • Proactively meet budget estimates and schedule deadlines


  • Entry-level: 0-2 years with some creative industry experience
  • A portfolio demonstrating successful design thinking
  • Possess a foundational understanding of user-centered design principles, excellent visual design skills and solid technical know-how
  • A problem-solver with the ability to multi-task and work effectively and quickly under high-pressure deadlines
  • Consistency and attention to detail regardless of project size/scope
  • Willingness to listen to feedback and apply it to the work and use it to improve
  • Experience taking ownership of assignments from start to finish
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Solid background in the following disciplines:
    • Solid knowledge of the latest versions of applicable programs. Adobe Creative Suite CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Sketch, etc.).
    • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite to ensure effective interaction with in-house account teams in the agency including the ability to design in PowerPoint and Word
    • Familiarity with digital (Web/Application) and print design, advertising and brand design
    • Familiarity with website creative development, UX/IA (User Experience/Information Architecture), interactive design, and content strategies
    • Front-end development and animation/motion-graphics skills a bonus
