Leading strategic communications and government affairs firm The Glover Park Group (GPG) today announced that Winnie Lerner has joined the firm as a Managing Director and head of the New York office. In this role, Lerner will be responsible for expanding the firm’s growing corporate communications and capital markets practice.
Lerner comes to GPG from Ralph Lauren, where she ran global corporate communications. Prior to that, Lerner spent nearly seventeen years at The Abernathy MacGregor Group providing financial public relations, M&A, crisis and investor relations counsel to an array of publicly-traded companies, ultimately becoming the firm’s co-president.
“Winnie’s ability to navigate complex communications situations and offer sound counsel to some of the public and private sectors’ most influential organizations is unrivaled,” said Chip Smith, chief executive officer and founding partner, GPG. “Expanding our presence in corporate communications is an important strategic priority for the firm, and our depth of knowledge across many industry sectors combined with our public affairs heritage gives us a unique competitive advantage. We’re very excited to welcome her to GPG and look forward to capitalizing on the opportunity to grow in this important category.”
Lerner began her career as a legislative assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Finance.
Lerner will report directly to GPG’s CEO Chip Smith.
