Matt Mandel specializes in government affairs, strategic planning and public policy for The Glover Park Group. He has expertise in a wide variety of issues including telecommunications, technology, media policy, spectrum management, intellectual property, cybersecurity, online privacy and data security policy.
Prior to joining GPG, Matt served 10 years as a legislative aide in the House of Representatives, most recently as the Legislative Director to former Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL), a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Matt was Rep. Stearns’ chief legislative adviser on issues before the committee, including telecommunications, technology, energy and consumer protection. Prior to this, Matt served as a Legislative Assistant to current House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) and in the legislative department at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
Matt holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from American University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. A native of Richmond, VA, he lives with his wife and two children in Rockville, MD. Matt is also an Adjunct Professor in the Government Department at American University.
