Managing Director


Craig James is a Managing Director at The Glover Park Group and specializes in communications strategy, content development and designing and managing integrated campaigns.

Craig has extensive experience managing creative research-based campaigns that utilize owned, earned and paid media, online advocacy and legislative education and outreach.

Craig is dedicated to simplifying the complex. He has developed campaigns to educate, persuade and move to action. He has worked across a wide range of industries, including financial services, health care, real estate, technology and aviation. Most of the work he now does has an extensive digital component.

Previously, Craig founded and was President of The Powell Tate Advertising Group (PTAG), which specialized in print and broadcast public affairs advertising. Prior to founding PTAG, he was a Senior Vice President at Bozell|Eskew, the advocacy advertising subsidiary of Robinson Lake Sawyer Miller.

Craig began his career working in politics. He spent more hours than he can remember in dark edit suites, producing political ads for the Democratic media firms Squier-Eskew Communications and Grunwald, Eskew & Donilon. He has also worked on political campaigns in Australia and New Zealand.

For ten months during 2008-09 Craig traveled around the world with his wife and two children, visiting 17 countries and crossing 40 borders. The family documented their adventure at The Wide Wide World. []

James has a BA from Swarthmore College and an MA in Communications from the University of Maryland.
