Leading strategic communications and government affairs firm The Glover Park Group (GPG) announced today that Sarah Culvahouse Mills has joined the firm as a Vice President. Mills will work in the Strategic Communications division, providing strategic media counsel for the firm’s clients.
Mills comes to GPG from The Heritage Foundation, where she was most recently director of communications and media relations during her six-year tenure, driving policy debates with high-impact communications campaigns and delivering the think tank’s first-ever hosting of a presidential debate during the 2012 election.
Previously, Mills worked at the White House during the Bush Administration where she served as an assistant press secretary in the Office of First Lady Laura Bush, communicating key policies and events to international, national and regional media and liaising with the White House Press Corps.
“Sarah’s impressive background spans government, politics, think tanks and media organizations,” said Jennifer Loven, Managing Director and head of GPG’s Strategic Communications division. “We are eager to put her perspective and experience to good use for the firm’s broad range of clients.”
Mills has also held communications positions at PJ Media and Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick and she worked at the Republican National Committee earlier in her career. A Washington-area native, Mills graduated from the University of Virginia, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in English language and literature.
