Leading strategic communications and government affairs firm The Glover Park Group (GPG) today announced that Robert Seidman has joined the firm as Vice President in the firm’s Government Affairs practice. He will be based in GPG’s Washington, D.C. office and will work on a broad range of the firm’s clients, focusing primarily on the technology and communications industries.
Seidman was most recently senior policy advisor to U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire on all issues before the Senate Commerce Committee relating to telecommunications, technology, privacy, manufacturing, cybersecurity, trade and intellectual property. Previously, Seidman served as policy director for Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, where he oversaw the congresswoman’s legislative agenda and developed policy on matters before the House Energy and Commerce Committee. During President George W. Bush’s administration, Seidman was the director of intergovernmental affairs for the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Seidman, a graduate of Vanderbilt University, began his career as an account coordinator at Dowling, Langley & Associates in Atlanta. He later worked as a legislative assistant in the offices of State Representative Kathy Ashe and U.S. Congressman Bob Riley. Seidman spent more than seven years as special assistant to the CEO of the National Rifle Association and later served as national coalitions director for Sen. John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.
