We are seeking an experienced public opinion research professional to join the firm’s Research & Analytics practice.  This position is based in the Washington, DC office. The Research & Analytics practice designs and executes opinion research and digital analytics projects designed to inform public affairs campaigns, branding, message development, and corporate strategy. The successful candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in conducting polling and public opinion research, have a deep understanding of how to develop specialized plans for complex issues, and the ability to translate audience insights into actionable communication strategy. Experience with advanced statistical analysis is required.  Understanding of social media analysis and analytics is highly preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as day-to-day, client facing communications lead for multiple accounts
  • Design, project manage and execute research projects with a wide range of methodologies for client accounts
  • Work closely across divisions within GPG (strategic communications, government relations, advertising and content), providing research-based insight and strategic guidance on time and on budget
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with company leadership and senior client groups
  • Present insights and recommendations confidently and effectively to high level stakholders
  • Manage new business process and efforts
  • Follow and report on new industry trends and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree in a related field is preferred
  • At least 8 years experience in opinion research
  • Experience leading both qualitative and quantitative public opinion research projects
  • Experience implementing analytics solutions, using, but not limited to, predictive statistical models, audience segmentation, data analysis and data mining
  • Moderating experience required
  • Familiarity with social and digital analytics tools and analysis
  • Knowledge of statistical modeling tools such as SPSS, R, SAS and Excel preferred
  • Experience in a communications agency strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
