We are looking for a Digital Associate for our growing Research Division in the company’s Washington, DC office. The Research Division plans and executes opinion research and digital analytics projects designed to inform public affairs campaigns, branding and message development, and corporate strategy. The Associate will work as a part of a tight-knit team to conduct open source media research and analysis to inform strategy for communications campaigns, and play a large role in our digital research practice.


  • Conduct digital landscape analyses using media analytics tools for clients focusing on reputation, legislative and competitive/regulatory issues
  • Synthesize findings into clear reports that translate data into actionable insights for clients
  • Analyze a variety of digital data using the latest technologies to optimize and inform client campaigns
  • Provide direction for new methods of digital performance measurement, to include the evaluation of new tools, identification of KPIs, and research methods
  • Follow and report on new industry trends, digital culture and best practices for the research division
  • Support new business initiatives to include research, proposal development and client presentations
  • Work across firm practice areas and develop relationships with staff outside the research division, often supporting them on client work
  • Analyze data and draw strategic observations with recommendations that are both innovative and actionable to non-technical audiences
  • Become familiar with and execute both digital research and opinion research methodologies


  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-6 years of experience managing social listening programs or in digital insights and analytics functions
  • Familiarity with social listening platforms such as Hootsuite, Spredfast, Brandwatch, Crimson Hexagon, etc.
  • Deep understanding of Boolean search logic and its application in the social media space
  • Deep knowledge of social media and digital culture, as well as online communities
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple highly visible projects and meet deadlines without sacrificing product quality
  • Extremely organized, detailed-oriented and collaborative, but able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Agency experience strongly preferred
