Leading strategic communications and government affairs firm The Glover Park Group (GPG) today announced that Aryana Khalid is joining its Health + Wellness practice as a Managing Director. Khalid will provide strategic political and legislative counsel on a broad range of issues and manage the firm’s health related Government Relations practice.
Khalid joins GPG with over 15 years of experience, most recently serving as Executive Vice President at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). Prior to her role at AHIP, Khalid served as the Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), acting as a senior political appointee to assist the Obama administration in all aspects of operations, policy development and oversight at CMS, including playing an integral role in the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Her leadership efforts secured the confirmation of the first CMS Administrator in nine years.
“Aryana’s enjoyed a front row seat at the table on health policy for more than a decade. That experience will have an immense impact on our work and clients,” said Joel Johnson, Managing Director and head of GPG’s Government Relations practice. “We are excited to welcome her as a colleague and know she will be a pivotal player on the team.”
A University of Virginia alum, Khalid has since held myriad roles across the political and healthcare spectrum, including stints at the Hospital Corporation of America, Commonwealth of Virginia and in the U.S. Senate and Domestic Policy Council at the White House.
